CALL THE MIDWIFE Season 10 Release on BBC & Netflix Confirmed for 2021 as Filming Finally Resumes

0

Hey, guys! Season 9 of Call the Midwife was released on Netflix on September 15th. It was released six months after all 8 episodes finished airing on television in the UK. BBC has already renewed Call the Midwife for Season 10 AND 11! Two-season renewal means that fans get to enjoy the critically acclaimed series through at least 2022. There’ll be a Christmas Special for each season, as usual. Filming of Series 10 was halted in March due to the pandemic, but resumed by the end of August, and is on track to premiere as usual, in the beginning of the year. However, in order to make that happen, the crew had to cut the episode count from 8 to 7. Netflix subscribers will get to enjoy Season 10 in the second half of 2021, most likely September, like the previous two seasons. Netflix Canada recently lost all rights to the series, and we’re hoping that won’t be the case with the UK and US. Season 10 will be set in 1966, which was marked by two memorable events, both of which will be covered in new episodes: the England’s World Cup win and snap General election won by Harold Wilson.
